Hi there! I’m Allan Glen, a saxophonist and woodwind player based in Edinburgh, UK.

I studied performance at the University of Strathclyde and Berklee College of Music, and spent over fifteen years teaching at Edinburgh College - specialising in composition for film and television, and serving as musical director of the Edinburgh College Big Band.

In June 2024, I left teaching to return to the freelance world as a woodwind player, engineer, and producer.

In September 2025, I’d had enough of enduring endless anti-saxophone rants from my friend, media composer Christian Henson, and founded Hidden Reel Productions - to prove once and for all that it is possible to create a saxophone sample library even he would use.

Introducing: the Saxodrone

The Saxodrone is a sampled baritone saxophone.

Never having liked the sound of sampled saxophones, the whole point of this library is for the end result to sound nothing like a sampled saxophone. Think pads, percussive hits and rhythmic motors.
